This class is about melding intercultural communication, small group communication and public speaking theories and practical techniques while affording students an opportunity for intercultural civic engagement. WARNING: Inherent in this academic endeavor is self-exploration and reflection. You will be required daily to examine personal patterns of communicating with others and asked to sincerely evaluate the utility of those patterns. You will be required, as a part of an intercultural experience to interact with people from diverse cultures whose life circumstances are sometimes very difficult to understand, to gain awareness of critical social justice issues in the United States and abroad.
