    This course will examine the characteristics and properties of common, as well as new and sustainable, commercial building materials such as: concrete materials, formwork, reinforcement, steel frame construction, lightweight steel framing, metals, curtainwalls, etc. These methods and materials, including sustainable principles, will be applied to Studio II projects. Prerequisite:ARCT1020 Corequisite: ARCT1500.

    1. Define key terms of light wight metal construction and be able to demonstrate understanding with architectural drawings.
    2. Define key terms of heavy steal construction and be able to demonstrate understanding with architectural drawings.
    3. Analysis a building and be able to to create details for vertical and horizontal structural connections
    4. Design a set up construction documents for concrete and heavy weight steel construction
